This Weeks Releases: Sims Edition

This Weeks Releases: My Sims Edition
The week before the big one (Halo3), and nothing really big hits the shops. Biggest game is My Sims on both the DS and the Wii. Imagine Animal Crossing, but on a bigger scale where nearly everything can be customised.

Warhawk is also out in the UK, so if you didn't pick up a US copy, then you might want to power up your PS3 for it.

Live Aracade has Geon, a Pacman type game but with emotions. Also the Playstation Store has eagerly awaited LocoRoco Cocoreccho.

Tarantino's Death Proof hits the Cinema, losing its buddy Grindhouse (which was released as a double-movie) as it didn't live up to its expectations.

This Weeks Releases: Paper Edition

Stranglehold, Paper Mario, Heavenly Sword And Loads More Great Games And Movies Released This Week!
There's something for all console owners this week. 360 owners get Stranglehold, PS3 owners have Heavenly Sword (and also, at long last DiRT!), and Wii owners get a helping of Super Paper Mario.

The DS is getting half a dozen releases, most of which are worth a look at. Including Sonic Rush Adventures, Heroes of Mana and the RPG based on the lovable Zelda character, Tingle. Also, and we're surprised this wasn't released sooner, Scrabble finally appears on the DS.

Those of you looking to upgrade your PSP, or even to buy one for whatever reason, the new (and rather crudely named), PSP Slim & Lite hits stores this week. Boasting a 33% slimmer and lighter package, as well as a TV-Out, allowing you to watch all those cheaply priced UMD's and play PSP games on your television screen.

The Cinema has a few good releases. Superbad is a must see movie. Shoot 'Em Up starring Clive Owen should be a blast (pardon the pun). And 3.10 to Yuma is looking set to be an Oscar nominee, starring both Russell Crowe and Christian Bale in the Wild West.

This Weeks Releases: Big Daddy Edition

Bioshock, Blue Dragon and Elite Released This Week!
The good thing that comes from having a releases drought for a few weeks is the amount of money you have left over for when the good titles come out, and this week is the perfect time to spend.

Firstly there is a new console out, in the form of the Xbox 360 Elite, which is perfect if you don't already have a 360. Also, the Core and Premium consoles have had a price reduction if the Elite doesn't interest you.

We also have Bioshock, which is one of the top contenders for Game of the Year. It's out on PC and Xbox 360 in three different editions to suit your taste (Standard, Tin and Big Daddy).

Also, Blue Dragon is finally out here. It's a Japanese RPG from the creator of Final Fantasy, and is the first 360 game to use multiple discs - not two, but three of them!

The Cinema sees the release of Knocked Up, a hilarious comedy from the makers of 40 Year Old Virgin. One of the funniest movies this year. Go see it!

Also, if you have a HD-DVD player, you may want to pick up a few titles, namely Blades of Glory and Heroes Season 1.

This Weeks Releases: Drought Edition

Bourne Ultimatum Released , Nothing Else of Note
If you thought the last two weeks have been uneventful on the releases front, then you won't want to see this weeks, as we have absolutely no retail games of note. The only games that are worth a mention are downloadable, Wave Race 64 on Wii Virtual Console and Hexic 2 on 360 Live Arcade.

On the movie front, we have Bourne Ultimatum leading the pack, touted as the film of the summer, and the best of the trilogy. Also you can watch Eagle vs Shark, which is supposed to be a good comedy, until the likes of Knocked Up and Superbad are released.

Don't fret about this week though, because next week will be a scortcher. Now get back to playing the Bioshock demo!

If you were saddened by the news that Mario Party was recalled last month, then you may be happy to hear that it has been re-released this week, all nice and unspastic.

No other games worth mentioning. Yes the drought has kicked in.

Movies fair a bit better though, with HD-DVD receiving Hot Fuzz in the UK. TMNT, the CGI spectacle also gets a release on both hi-def formats.

This Weeks Releases: Transformers Edition

A pretty quiet week this. With the main title being Transformers, on all formats, released a week before the movie to get you a bit more excited. Although the game itself has been getting pretty average reviews, I'm sure it'll please a few of the fans.

Also out is Big Brain Academy on the Wii, something to keep you occupied between Wii Sports and Zelda. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, then you can download two great titles from the Virtual Console, Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES) and Metroid (NES).

360 owners are also given something special this week, in the form of a revamped Bomberman in the Live Arcade. It has everything you expect from the bombers, except with Hi-Def graphics and Live multiplayer, which is well worth the purchase.

If you have a PS3 and have been waiting for the Darkness to come out, your wait is over as you can now pick it up and enjoy what 360 owners have probably all finished now.

This Weeks Releases: Agents Edition

This week may be all about E3, but there are still a few games being released, although most of which aren't really that amazing.

Mario Party 8 on Wii is out, and is not as good as everyone thought it would be. Elite Beat Agents is finally released in Europe, but I'm guessing that it won't be a huge hit, seeing as everyone who was interested would have probably played it and finished it already.

A surprise hit landed on the Virtual Console today, in the form of Paper Mario. If you ever wanted to play this on the N64 but couldn't afford the extortionate prices dealers were asking, then this is the perfect chance to get it.

Only movie worth mentioning is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in the Cinema's,which is sure to be a hit.

This Weeks Releases: Ninja Edition

The last few weeks have been great for 360 owners, with a handful of great titles being released, but it seems to have died down now, with (gasp!) nothing being released in the shops for the 360 this week.

Instead, other formats have a few interesting titles out. The PS3 finally has something new (well sort of) in the form of Ninja Gaiden Sigma. The Wii has Scarface. And the PSP has Parappa the Rapper.

Die Hard 4.0 is also out in the Cinema, and is being hailed as the best one since the first. Also out on DVD are Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, both come highly recommended.
